The next thing is to make a 12V generator out of a fan and a car alternator, but that can wait until later... After Z-Day there will be plenty of things laying around that can be used for that purpose... lol

Picked up the adapter, went out to my car and turned on the radio. Nothing. Squelch all the way down, nothing but not so soothing static. Took off the antenna, put on the adapter, hooked up the antenna on my car off my in car radio, and woo! I got chatter. Ah makes me feel good!
If you find a decently priced solar cell let us know where you got it, its a very good idea. I know "survival radios" can charge lots of things and are crank, solar, battery, ac or dc powered. I know they will charge my phone and radios. Takes a while though. It would be nice to know if they would charge my laptop too. I think entertainment will be hard to come by and the few hundred movies I have would be great to keep us all from deathly boredom.
You mean the standard deployment kit of 1 hardrive full of porn and one full of moveis?
