does anyone in sector 3 have a motor home? we will need a mobile ZRT unit..to hold a few ZRT (not armored) vehicle.. i had a van that seated 7 but i sold it .... if i joined ZRT sooner i would have kept it a real nice one very big..with motor home plates..

Been thinking about it for several months. A tow behind camper might be best for that. My burb seats 7, but a camper or bus would be better.

yeah an old med sized school bus would be great! turn it into a mobile survival camper, a med sized school bus are pretty solid cuz they are built to protect the children in a crash..

the suburban is nice but it doesn't hold seven. IMO being able to toss your BOB in the bAck or even leap into the rear for a hasty extract is a huge benefit. The suburban is a great vehicle for a fireteam insertion/extraction or for supplies and VIP pickup but it is by no means a transport. It's the mobile command center.

that's an incredible idea. Chain link fencing over the whole row of windows perhaps popriveted on. Then your could still put down the window and shoot out. The fencing would even provide a stable support. Then perhaps something heavier on the door. Plate steel bolted too and bottom? You don't really need to see out of that.

Cattle guard over the front to protect the radiator. Of course a few enemy people could knock out a bus. It would be easy pickins for a few people to surprise I imagine. Shoot the engine then a tire or two then aim for anyone seen in the windows. If they are all down start at the front and pound rounds in at floor level front to back. Escort vehicles would be a must.

It seats 7, but the 3rd row has been in the living room since I keep having to use it as a pickup. A pickup in the convoy would be nice, though (especially with a cap of some style). One of the destroyer's dad's tree trucks would suffice for a bus with some cutting and welding.

i know i'm new here, but i've thought alot on this subject, and i think any mall or Walmart or whatever is a terrible idea. sure, they're stocked to the skies with supplies, and with some work, they can be secured, but for any long term siege, i'd suggest a large apartment type buildings, with minimal access points, maybe even a national guard type armory.

if Walmart has everything we need, then it'll have everything everyone else needs, too. how long do you think it'll take less-than-savory types to figure it out? or worse, LEOs and military who go rogue after the chain of command breaks down? we'd probably find ourselves defending not just from zeds, but bandits, too. superstores are fine for stocking up, but not for maintaining a siege.

IMO, i'd try and find someplace more isolated, like industrial complexes, warehouses, and stuff, to hole up.

This is so on point. Last thing you want to do is deal with a thousand people wanting to loot the store. That many people the list of the issues that arise would be endless. Plus you should already have most of the basics at your disposal. Besides food (depending on what you got going on) what do you really need from wally world. Most of use already have clothes, at least a handful of gas cans, any tools needed, Medications, and what ever else you can think of. That reminds me I need to get some more dog food.

I vote for the PPL dam on Wallenpaupack it is a hardened location and easily defended only two routes in and both are choke points with long field of view. The added bonus of electricity and surveillance systems in place and one extremely radical escape route.
Upon consideration every Zed that falls into the Lake would eventually wash up on the dam it would be a Zombie collection point, so never mind.

Yes it is. Tunnels/underground is really dangerous. Going up instead of down at least allows you to jump/rappel out of a window or off the roof. Underground is a real easy way to get overrun. The only way that going underground is a good thing is if it's a secured bunker with supplies for 40 years and airtight doors that can be locked from the inside. The mines are far from being stable enough and the tunnels are a maze and virtually impossible to block off or secure. Frankly, you'd be better off in one of the highrises in downtown several floors up with the elevator locked out and the stairs blocked off.

couple of ideas:

the Armory in Scranton, off of Jefferson Ave. small, secure windows, only two entrances.

the Kingston Armory. same as above. they're armories, people!

the dam at Wallenpaupack is a good one. i've seen it. good view in two directions, easily defendable from zeds and humans.
