Prepping at Your Place of Worship - priell3 - 09-18-2019

Our church has formed a security and safety team.  Church shootings happen and while it is unlikely to happen here, it is better to be prepared just in case.
The team is headed by a parish member who is also current LEO and former military.

We have and continue to have training in firearms, first aid and how to deal with intruders in addition to training for safeguarding children from predators.  We had to take classes and pass background checks at several levels.  Some of the team will be carrying concealed during services.

Our goal is to increase vigilance and to act accordingly if a situation arises.  Eyes and ears are the first line of defense.

Outstanding!  A good plan not needed, is better than a needed plan NOT prepared!

What denomination, out of curiosity?  Is it a directive "from on high," a local initiative, or are several churches in your area "down for the program?"  Inquiring minds WANT to know...

Mine is a Catholic church but it is just one of many in the area of different denominations implementing measures.

People forget (and da' Teachas Union makes sure it AIN'T TAUGHT) the role of the churches in the American Revolution.  While church security is a sad reality in our culture today, MAYBE it'll have a side benefit, of awakening church goers to their own history in the process.

I'm not religious so my home is my temple and my place of worship is my beer fridge.
My home is pretty damn secure so I think I got most things covered but you can never be too prepared.
