If you get really bored (and have a generator), a good thing to do sometime, is put in all your window panels, dark drapes, etc. Then go out with your NVS, and check for "light leaks."
MOST of us WON'T be able to run a generator around the clock, for weeks on end, but it's a good thinkg to check BEFORE disaster strikes. Because if you're GONNA run one at night, and there's NO POWER around for blocks/miles, not only will your generator noise (if NOT properly muffled!) give you away - light leaks will give you away at a greater distance, than even the generator exhaust will.
